About this Medicine

Adc Eye Drop is a prescription medicine that is used for the treatment of inflammation in the eyes (uveitis). It helps in relieving pain, itching, discomfort, and irritation which are caused due to inflammation. It also has antibacterial property which help in preventing and controlling eye infections. Adc Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.Use of this medicine may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application in some people. These are usually temporary and resolve on their own. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, rinse it with plenty of water.Do not use this medicine if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine. To make sure it is safe for you, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after administering this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision.

How it Works

Adc Eye Drop is a combination of three medicines: Atropine, Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone. Atropine is an anticholinergic medicine which works by making the pupil of your eye larger and relax the muscles in your eye. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Dexamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.
