It is used along with other blood sugar lowering medications in order to prevent further nerve injury. Alcob Plus Softgel Capsule may be taken with or without food. It should be used in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant that protects the brain and nerves from harmful free radicals. It lowers bad cholesterol. It breaks down carbohydrates to make energy. Benfotiamine treats vitamin B1 deficiency and resulting nerve damage. Folic acid is essential for production of red blood cells. It prevents and treats folate deficiency and anemia.
