Altonin Tablet PR is a combination medicine used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract. It works by stopping the growth of microorganisms and killing the existing ones that causes the infection. Altonin Tablet PR can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit. You should continue taking the medicine and complete the dose even if your symptoms improve. If you stop taking it too early, the infection may return or worsen.Using this medicine may cause some common side effects such as headaches, nausea, and flatulence in some people. These side effects are usually temporary and go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. How it Works

Altonin Tablet PR is a combination of two medicines. Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria in the urine that causes infection. Cranberry Extract is an extract from cranberry fruit. It prevents the bacteria from connecting to the other bacteria to form a biofilm (colony) in the urinary tract (urine pipe), thus hampers the growth and multiplication of the bacteria. This is how it works to treat urinary tract infection.
