About this Medicine

Anxipan Capsule is a combination of two medicines used to treat anxiety, acidity, and heartburn. It relaxes the nerves in the brain and also prevents excess acid formation in the stomach, indigestion, and heartburn that may be associated with anxiety. Anxipan Capsule may be taken with or without food. However, it is advisable to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor as it has habit-forming potential. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of the treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly as it may cause nausea and anxiety.Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, constipation, stomach pain, flatulence, sedation, difficulty in urination, and blurred vision. However, these are temporary and usually resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you.It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. It may cause diarrhea, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine as it may help to prevent dehydration. If you get watery diarrhea with fever or stomach pain that persists, then you should consult your doctor.

How it Works

Anxipan Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Amitriptyline and Pantoprazole which treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) associated with anxiety. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which reduces the amount of acid in the stomach and relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
