Bercold Syrup Mango is a medicine used in the treatment of common cold and cough. It helps soothe the throat, calms cough reflexes, and provides a cooling sensation and eases breathing. This way it relieves symptoms of cold and cough. Bercold Syrup Mango may be taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Keep taking the medicine for as long as the doctor has recommended. Stopping the treatment too early may lead to return of the symptoms and your condition may worsen.Common side effects of this medicine include headache, sedation, diarrhea, dry mouth, and nausea. How it Works
Bercold Syrup Mango combines six medicines: Dextromethorphan Hydrochloride, Cetirizine, Phenylephrine, Paracetamol, Sodium citrate, and Menthol. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that acts on the cough center in the brain. It helps to reduce the urge to cough by inhibiting the brain signals that trigger the cough reflex. Cetirizine blocks the effects of histamine, a chemical the body produces in response to allergens. It helps to reduce allergy symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion. Paracetamol works by inhibiting the production of certain chemicals (prostaglandins) in the brain that are involved in transmitting pain signals and regulating body temperature. Sodium citrate works by thinning and loosening the mucus in the airways and clearing congestion. Menthol produces a mild anesthetic action that relieves irritation and provides a cooling sensation.
