Doil-MR Liniment is used to relieve pain and reduce swelling in the joints and muscles. It can be used to treat various injuries, such as sprains, strains, and bruises. It can also be used for tendonitis (such as tennis elbow) and osteoarthritis. Doil-MR Liniment is only meant for external use and should be used strictly as advised by your doctor. Rub a thin layer of the medicine into the affected areas with clean and dry hands. Do not cover the treated area with a bandage or plaster. Avoid its contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, and wounded or damaged skin. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse it off with plenty of cold water.It is a safe medicine with few side effects. However, it may cause application site reactions, such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness, in some people. Tell your doctor straight away if you get a rash with blistering. Before using Doil-MR Liniment, pregnant or breastfeeding women should inform the doctor. Also one should not use it if they are already taking diclofenac (or other similar) tablets.
Doil-MR Liniment is a combination of analgesic medicines and a skeletal muscle relaxant. With dual hot and cold action, camphor numbs and cools the nerve endings, then warms the painful area as it improves circulation to stiff joints and muscles. Capsaicin based rubefacients work by blocking pain messages to the nerves. Diclofenac diethylamine works by reducing hormones that trigger inflammation and pain in the body. Menthol causes a cooling sensation and is reported to act as a counterirritant to reduce the sensation of pain. Mephenesin relaxes skeletal muscles and relieves spasms.
