About this Medicine

Dutamax Lotion is a medicine used in the treatment of hair loss (alopecia). It helps fight hair fall and helps the hair to regrow. This medication is not recommended for females. Females must consult with a doctor before using Dutamax Lotion. Use Dutamax Lotion in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Read the instructions carefully before using the medicine. Use it in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Using more than recommended will not speed up hair growth and may increase the likelihood of side effects. Use it for as long as the doctor has prescribed to maintain proper hair growth. Some common side effects of this medicine include itching, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. If these side effects do not improve with time or worsen, inform your doctor. If you get it in your eyes, mouth or broken skin, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Talk to your doctor if you are bothered by side effects, or they do not go away.Do not use this medicine if you have a known history to this product or any of the ingredients in this product. Before using this medicine, let your doctor know about all the medicines you are taking or using, if any. This medication is not recommended for use in women. Pregnant, potentially pregnant, or breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before using this medicine.

How it Works

Conversion of a hormone called testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by the enzyme 5-α-reductase is responsible for thinning of scalp hair and hair loss. Dutamax Lotion suppresses the conversion of testosterone into DHT by blocking an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. Suppressed formation of DHT leads to reduction in additional hair loss.
