Frankoff Syrup medicine is used for symptomatic relief of bronchospasm in bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis. This combination medicine relaxes the muscles walls of the small airways in the lungs. It also thins and loosens thick mucus in the air passages, making it easier to cough out. Frankoff Syrup may be taken with or without food. However, take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor, and keep taking this medicine for as long as the doctor has recommended. The dose and duration will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. If you stop the treatment too early, your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen.Common side effects of Frankoff Syrup include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, upset stomach, dizziness, and headache. Most of these symptoms are temporary and usually resolve with time. Let the doctor know in case they persist or worsen. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen sleepiness.Before taking this medicine, tell the health professional about all the other medications you are taking as some of them may affect or be affected by this combination medicine. Additionally, you should tell the doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding.

How it Works

Frankoff Syrup is a combination of ambroxol, guaifenesin, menthol, and salbutamol. Ambroxol and guaifenesin work by thinning and loosening the mucus in the airways and clearing congestion. Salbutamol makes breathing easier by relaxing the muscles of the airways, and menthol soothes the throat.
