Glimeton M 500mg/2mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by delaying glucose absorption from the intestines and increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas, thus controlling blood sugar levels. Glimeton M 500mg/2mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It must be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.It may cause side effects like headache, nausea, vomiting and nasal congestion. However, these are temporary and usually subside on their own. Please consult your doctor in case these do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.Before taking Glimeton M 500mg/2mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart problems. Glimeton M 500mg/2mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Metformin and Gemigliptin. \tMetformin is an anti-diabetic medication (biguanide). It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Gemigliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor which works by increasing the release of insulin from pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces both fasting and postmeal sugar levels. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.
