Metolactone 5 mg/50 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It reduces the excess fluid levels in your body while maintaining potassium balance. It is best to take Metolactone 5 mg/50 mg Tablet in the morning along with food in order to avoid frequent urination at night time. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.Diarrhea, stomach upset, and glucose intolerance are very common side effect of this medicine. It might lower down the electrolytes level like sodium, potassium, and magnesium in the blood. Hence, regular monitoring of kidney function, blood pressure, and electrolytes are important while using this medicine.
