Pilofast Cream is used in the treatment of piles. It relieves redness, itching, swelling, irritation, and promotes healing of piles. It works by blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain to decrease the sensation of pain.Pilofast Cream is for external use only. Before using the medicine check the label for directions of use and apply gently on the clean and dry affected area. You should always wash your hands after applying it.
How it Works
Pilofast Cream is a combination of five medicines: Lidocaine, Hydrocortisone, Phenylephrine, Zinc Oxide, and Calcium Dobesilate. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing the sensation of pain. Hydrocortisone is a steroid which reduces redness, itching, and swelling due to piles/hemorrhoids. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks the swollen blood vessels to further relieve itching and irritation caused by piles/hemorrhoids. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic action. Calcium Dobesilate is a vasoprotective medicine which works on the walls of the small blood vessels and reduces their leakage and fragility. It also improves blood flow by decreasing viscosity/thickness of blood, thereby relieving inflammation (redness and swelling) in piles/hemorrhoids and promoting healing.
