Proloc-XT Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers. It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn. It also speeds up the healing of ulcers in the stomach and intestine. Proloc-XT Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.Common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, joint pain, fever, and rash. These are usually mild and disappear after a short time. Consult your doctor if they persist. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your dizziness.Before taking the medicine always consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you are suffering from any severe stomach, liver, kidney disease, or any known disease. Lifestyle modifications like having cold milk and avoiding hot tea, coffee, spicy food or chocolate can help you to get better results.
How it Works
Proloc-XT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Pantoprazole and Zinc Carnosine which treat acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Zinc Carnosine is a nutritional supplement which speeds up the healing of ulcers in stomach and intestine.
