It is usually administered at least 2 weeks prior to expected exposure to S. Typhi. Shantyph 25mcg Vaccine is administered by a doctor or a nurse. You should not be self-administered this vaccine at home. It is recommended for travelers to areas where a recognized risk of exposure to typhoid exists. Its effectiveness lasts for around 3 years from the time of vaccination. Booster injection is required every 3 years to provide continued immunity.Some common side effects of this medicine include injection site reactions (such as pain, swelling, redness), fever, and headache.
