Solubin C Eye Ointment is a medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections. It kills and stops the growth of infection-causing bacteria. This way it helps relieves symptoms such as redness, itching, and swelling caused by the infection. Solubin C Eye Ointment is to be used only in the affected eye. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Use it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor or as instructed in the label. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Do not use too much or too little. Complete your dose and do not stop using the medicine even if you feel better until the doctor says it is alright to stop.Use of this medicine may cause eye discomfort, burning sensation, and irritation immediately on instilling. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. Solubin C Eye Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Chloramphenicol which treat eye infections. Betamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy after an allergy or infection. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
