Toltam Capsule is a combination of two medicines. It is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It helps to relax the muscles of the bladder and prostate gland thereby relieving pain and irritation. It also helps to control the urge to urinate. Toltam Capsule may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medicines. It is best taken with food. Take it regularly and do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by your doctor. You should not stop taking the medicine until your doctor tells you it is okay to stop.Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as dryness in the mouth, blurred vision, constipation, flushing, impaired cordination, ejaculation disorder. If you experienced any of these side effects that do not go away or get worse, let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent the side effects.To make sure the medicine is safe for you, before taking this medicine, let your doctor know all the other medicines you are taking. Toltam Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Tolterodine which relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker while Tolterodine is an antimuscarinic. They work by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily.
