Zoline Eye Drop is a prescription medicine used to treat allergic diseases of the eye. It relieves redness and swelling of the eye and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort. Zoline Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.The most common side effects include burning and stinging at the application site. If these side effects persist for a longer duration, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it off with water. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any ingredients of this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision.
Zoline Eye Drop is a combination of six medicines: Naphazoline, Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride and Zinc Sulfate. Naphazoline is a decongestant which narrows the blood vessels in the eye, thereby reducing redness and inflammation (swelling). Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricant similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort in the eye. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for red, itchy, watery eyes. Boric Acid and Zinc Sulfate are antiseptics which treat bacterial infection in the eyes and relieve irritation. Sodium Chloride is a purified salt solution which cleanses the eye and reduces swelling.
